Instructors: Ron Goldman/Kathleen Clemons/Robert LaFollette/Bryan Peterson/Joe Baraban/Danilo Piccioni
Duration: 6 Weeks            Cost: US$295

WEEK #1 - The Art of Selective Focus - Kathleen Clemons

What exactly is Selective Focus? When should you use it? How much of your subject needs to be in focus? How do you decide where to place a point of focus? Join Kathleen Clemons as she introduces you to using Selective Focus in your photography. There are times when you don't want or need everything in focus, learn the why, when and exactly how to use this technique to add impact to your photos.

WEEK#2 - Photographing People and Models - Robert LaFollette

If you have ever wanted to learn how to photograph people such as family members, friends or even if you wish to begin to work with models then this lesson is for you. Designed for anyone wishing to learn the secrets of taking fantastic photographs of people using only natural and available light you will learn that there is no need for a fancy studio with thousands of dollars in lighting equipment or renting out studio space.

Since most photographs of people and models are taken outdoors this lesson will give you the necessary insight on using only natural and available light as well as the importance of fill flash and how to control it. You will also learn valuable tips and tricks on equipment such as setting up your camera and what the optimum settings will give you the best results as well as learn about lens choice and how your lens will effect your images as well as using fill light, reflectors, screens and diffusers.

WEEK#3 - Actions: What a timesaver! - Danilo Piccioni

Photoshop actions are our friends and just like good friends, they will come to our aid when we are on a deadline or we have no time to do the same repetitive steps on several images.

Actions are nothing more but a recorded series of commands in PS that we can play back at a later time on other images for your convenience. This complete overview of what actions will literally save you hours in post processing. What used to take 10 to 15 minutes will now be done with one click.

WEEK#4 - Up Close and Personal - Bryan F Peterson

Photographing people, whether it be the neighbor next door or the stranger at the fruit stand 5,000 miles away, the face says it all, but getting those up close and personal faces often requires far more "know-how" then making the right lens choice. The psychology, the art and the technical hurdles will be discussed in great detail in this jam-packed lesson!

WEEK#5-SEEING PAST FIRST IMPRESSIONS-Joe Baraban

Many photographers often fall prey to the ultimate seduction-our "first impression" of a given scene. Quickly, we shoot several shots of our "first impression", and almost just as quickly, we walk away, hopeful of being seduced once again. This lesson will help you overcome the temptation to be seduced and you will soon see what you have been missing and believe me, you've been missing a whole bunch!

WEEK #6 - Shooting When it's Raining - Ron Goldman

If I had a dollar for every time someone told me they "couldn't shoot anything today" or "this week", or "this month" because it was raining, I would be a very wealthy man. The fact is, none of us live where the weather is "perfect" for shooting all the time. Or do we?

If we look at this from the standpoint of "the light today is perfect for…" rather than "too bad it's raining, we will greatly expand the amount of days we shoot which will in turn lead to greatly expanding our skills as a photographer.

Embrace your surroundings and use them to your advantage instead of using them as an excuse to keep your camera in its bag.

I live in Washington State which is one of the rainiest places in the country. If I didn't shoot when it rained here, I wouldn't get to use my camera very many days out of the year. Since I love to shoot as often as possible, I needed to learn how to use the rainy weather to my advantage and I am going to show you how to use it to yours in this lesson.
