Small Strobes, Big Results
Starting Date:

Instructors: David Tejada                            Duration: 4 Weeks            Cost: USD295

This course is all about learning how to use your small shoe mounted strobes off-camera. You'll learn how create studio quality light using your small strobes, hence the name Small Strobes, Big Results.

Learn how to properly use light modifiers such as umbrellas, softboxes, grids/snoots as well as proper bounce techniques and when to use them. Learn how to shape the light to enhance your images, blend flash with available light and learn about color balance and how to use it creatively. I'll share some of my location lighting secrets and clever grip equipment that will save you some money down the road.

Why are we using small strobes? Because that's all that is truly required to produce big results. I spent more than twenty years hauling around heavy studio power packs and flash heads on assignments. Nowadays, when I head out on assignment, I'll take 5 Nikon SB-800 flashes and perhaps a Quantum flash.

Larger strobes do have their place mind you, but in todays world my studio strobes spend more time gathering dust than actually throwing light at subjects. You will find through the lessons of this jam packed 4-week course, that you can achieve big results with small strobes.

There are certain pieces of equipment you will need in order to fully participant and benefit from this course. You will of course need a flash, one that will allow you to trigger it at a distance off your camera. You'll need a light stand and an umbrella adapter that allows you to mount your flash to that stand and holds an umbrella or other light modifier.

I look forward to having you in the class and helping you gain a better understanding of using artificial light and getting big results from your small strobes!

Course Requirement:
You must have a complete understanding of basic exposure and basic flash operation.
